Ship a waitlist in an afternoon
The problem. You want to start collecting interest before the product exists, and every hour spent on the waitlist page is an hour not spent building the actual thing.
The play. Point Claude Code at a fresh folder and describe the page and the capture flow in one sitting — build, review, and ship it the same afternoon.
Setup (10 min). Open Claude Code. Have your PRODUCT.md and VOICE.md ready if you’ve written them, or describe your product and voice in the first message.
The prompt:
I want a single waitlist page for [your product, in your own words]. Read
PRODUCT.md and VOICE.md if they exist in this folder.
Build:
- A headline and one-line subhead stating the real value, no hype
- One short paragraph on what it does and who it's for
- An email capture form with basic validation
- A simple, honest confirmation state after signup ("you're on the list,"
not a fake countdown or fake spots-remaining message)
After each change, show me the page in a browser and explain what you did
in plain language.
What you get. A real, working page you can point real traffic at the same day, built without a page builder’s constraints or a template you’re fighting to customize.
What to watch for.
- Don’t let the draft include fake urgency — no invented “only 12 spots left” or fabricated signup counts. If you want real social proof later, add it when it’s real.
- The email capture needs an actual place to send addresses (a provider, a simple database, even a spreadsheet via a connector) — decide that before you ship, not after the first signup arrives with nowhere to go.
Make it repeatable. The same pattern — describe the page, review the diff, check it in a browser — is the template for shipping any small page fast. The full landing-page workflow covers a fuller version of this same approach.
